Crewe Alexandra Under-15s will aim to make it three wins on the spin in the EFL Floodlit Cup when they take on Shrewsbury Town at Mornflake Stadium tonight (Monday, 7pm).

The talented group have already enjoyed victories over Port Vale (4-2) and Birmingham City (4-0) in the group stage of the national competition.

Now they will try to dispatch the Shrews on home soil, with coach Arlen Birch taking the team.

Crewe will then travel to Walsall on Thursday in their final group game.

The U15 Floodlit Cup provides players with the unique experience of playing evening matches under floodlights in varied weather conditions – helping them prepare for similar tests they will encounter at U18, U23 and senior level.

Crewe won the competition in 2019 when Joel Tabiner and Connor O’Riordan were among the scorers in a 3-1 victory over Bristol City in the final at Ashton Gate.
