Bell assesses Salford test

26 January 2024

Karl Robinson’s impact at Salford City means they will provide a very stern test for Crewe Alexandra tomorrow (Saturday, 3pm).

That’s according to boss Lee Bell, who has warned his men to ignore the fact The Ammies sit 20th in League Two.

Former MK Dons, Charlton and Oxford boss Robinson took the reins at Salford on January 5 and is yet to taste defeat in three games.

Bell said: “It will be an extremely tough game. They are a good team with good players.

“I’ve been in that situation myself as a player when there is a good group but there has been something just not quite falling right.

“But Karl has gone in and really stamped his mark on the team in terms of how they are trying to play their football and I’m sure their aim is to get points on the board as quickly as possible.

“They look hungry and full of pace and power. We are in for a real test because of the calibre of players they have got.

“We will have to be right at it to get the three points we want.”

Crewe will head into the fixture on the back of four straight league wins. If they emerge as victors, it will be the first time since 1995 they have managed five on the spin.
