Crewe Alexandra will learn the extent of an injury sustained by Christopher Long this week.

The striker missed Saturday’s victory over Crawley Town after hurting his thigh in training.

Specialists will look into the problem this week to determine the severity.

Manager Lee Bell said: “He felt something in his thigh but we’re not sure of the extent of it yet. We’ll speak to the people we need to and assess it this week.”

Long, 28, who has scored nine goals in 25 appearances this season, missed two months of action due to a thigh injury earlier this term.
