Christopher Long and Ed Turns will be assessed ahead of Saturday’s trip to Accrington Stanley.

That’s according to Manager Lee Bell, who said it wasn’t clear how the pair were immediately after the Easter Monday defeat to Forest Green.

Forward Long, who had only recently recovered from a thigh problem, pulled up at the end of first half and was replaced at the break.

Defender Turns limped off in the first half, as Crewe made a double substitution.

Bell said: “Chris says he has hurt his thigh again, so we’ll see.

“I didn’t even know Ed Turns was injured - we were making that change anyway. He will have to be assessed.”

Midfielder Conor Thomas missed the game, but that was a precautionary measure to guard against a reoccurance of a calf injury.
