Injury Update|Latest from the treatment room

18 April 2024

Lee Bell has provided the latest news from a packed treatment room at Crewe Alexandra.

The Manager gave updates on Conor Thomas (hamstring), Courtney Baker-Richardson (calf), Shilow Tracey (hamstring), Ed Turns (knee), Christopher Long (thigh), Tom Booth (hamstring), Harvey Davies (hamstring) and Owen Lunt (back).

The Railwaymen are gearing up to host Wrexham on Saturday (12.30pm) before a trip to Colchester United on Saturday, April 27 (3pm).

Bell said: “Conor Thomas has been working well and is looking on track for next weekend (Colchester).

“Courtney is progressing. His shoulder is fine but he has a slight problem with his calf. We’ll go off what he is saying and see if we can get him available for next weekend (Colchester).

“Shilow had a scan and it is quite good news. We just have to build up his strength in the area that’s affected and hopefully he can get somewhere near for this weekend (Wrexham). If not, it’ll be the week after.

“Ed has had a good result with his scan regarding his knee. He went back to Brighton and they had a look at him and there’s no severe damage.

“We need to get a bit of swelling out of his knee so we won’t make this weekend – maybe next weekend.

“Longy has been out doing extra pitch sessions. We’ll have to make a judgement call on this weekend with him, we’ll see where he is at.

“The keepers are going to be some way off, I’m afraid. It’s pretty unique for both your keepers to pick up hamstring injuries in innocuous incidents.

“Owen has been running again and still has some soreness, but that’s to be expected with the type of injury he has.”

Jack Powell (knee) and Luke Offord (ankle) remain sidelined for the season. Lewis Leigh will serve the second of a four-match suspension.
