Offord: ‘Let’s quietly go about our business’

22 September 2023

Captain Luke Offord is happy for Crewe Alexandra to stay under the radar this season.

The Railwaymen were listed amongst the favourites for relegation by the bookies this summer, and distant outsiders for promotion.

But a solid start to the campaign, which sees Lee Bell’s side sitting seventh in League Two, has started to change minds.

However, Offord is not worried about people’s perceptions and urged his team-mates to focus on the job at hand.

“I know we’re not favourites to do anything this season but I know how good the lads are because I train with them every day,” he said.

“But we’ve had a good start and we have got potential. Obviously, there are things to improve on but there is a good group coming together.

“We just have to take each game as it comes and go about our business quietly. We are doing all right so we have to keep going.”

Crewe entertain Colchester United at Mornflake Stadium on Saturday (3 pm). Click here for ticket information.
