Matchday Guide | MK Dons (H)

2 September 2023

Crewe Alexandra will aim to extend their impressive home record when they entertain MK Dons at Mornflake Stadium on Saturday (3pm).

Lee Bell’s men will look to put their two defeats on the road behind them and add to the 10-game unbeaten run on their own patch.

The Opposition

MK Dons lead the way in League Two after having won four out of their first five games. They have overcome Wrexham, Colchester, Doncaster and Tranmere Rovers in a super start.

The Dons are aiming to bounce back to League One at the first attempt after suffering a surprise relegation last term.

The Gaffer

Graham Alexander took charge during the summer and has the experience of getting out of this league. He guided Fleetwood Town to promotion in 2014-15 and also helped Salford City rise in non-league ranks.

Fighting Talk

Ryan Dicker (Assistant Manager) “We’ve been working on what to implement; we have to take the positives from the previous couple of games and then hopefully we can get a positive result.”

Graham Alexander: “We know of Crewe’s strengths and attributes, and I’m sure they are aware of ours.”

Head-to-Head

Crewe and MK Dons have met 15 times, winning six apiece. There have been three draws between them. The last time Crewe were victorious was a 2-0 away win in April 2021, when Mika Mandron bagged a brace.

Match Officials

The referee for Saturday’s clash is Christopher Pollard. Simon Shaw and Stephen Wade are the assistant referees. The fourth official will be Lewis Raper.
