Midfielder Matus Holicek has been called into the Slovakia Under-18 squad for two friendly matches this summer.
The 18-year-old attacking midfielder has again received international recognition, and will join up with his fellow countrymen for the games in early June.
Holicek, who has progressed through the Alex academy and made three first-team appearances, will feature in two games against Czech Republic.
Crewe boss Lee Bell said: “The call-up is great recognition for the player, his family, and the club.
“Matus has been called up for a get-together with Slovakia, and will play some games.
“It’s great for him and shows again we have got good players. It’s brilliant for players to get out there and have some different experiences, be around different coaches and different types of players, and hopefully bring that learning experience back with them.”
Holicek signed a new long-term deal at Mornflake Stadium earlier this year, and is expected to push for more first-team action in 2023-24.
