Lee Bell says discussions are under way to resolve the future of Bassala Sambou.

The striker, who spent the end of last season on loan at Oldham Athletic, is under contract at Crewe Alexandra.

Bell said: “We are in discussions with Bass, and the content will stay between me and him.

“We are working hard with him to come up with a solution for next season.

“He needs to put down some roots, kick on with his career, and play some football.

“As soon as we have an update on that, hopefully in the next couple of weeks, we will let the fans know as quickly as possible.”

Sambou, 25, arrived at Mornflake Stadium in January last year. He has made 49 appearances for the club, scoring three goals.

The former Everton and Fortuna Sittard man played nine times for Oldham, scoring twice, in March and April.
