Lee Bell is hoping to get positive contract decisions from Rod McDonald and Tariq Uwakwe in the not-too-distant future.

The Manager wants the duo to commit to deals before their current agreements expire at the end of June.

Bell said: “I’ll speak to Rod this week to see where he is at. I spoke to his agent over the weekend, and he was very helpful despite him being at the Play-Offs, he still got back to me which was good of him. I hope we can come to an agreement. 

“On Tariq, I’ve spoken to his agent, and hopefully with more dialogue that can get sorted sooner rather than later.”

Defender McDonald, 31, was named Player of the Year after his first season at Crewe. The former  Coventry, Northampton, and Carlisle, man made 36 appearances, scoring two goals.

Midfielder Uwakwe, 23, joined the club from Chelsea in January last year. He has made 48 appearances, bagging one goal. The Alex would be due compensation if the former England Under-20 man chose to move on.
