Crewe Alexandra supporters were treated to a stellar event when club legend Danny Murphy came home for a special evening at Mornflake Stadium.
The former Liverpool and England star, now one of the nation’s best-loved Match of the Day and TalkSport pundits, was the main attraction at a sportsman’s dinner.
Murphy, who joined Crewe as a schoolboy and went on to score 35 goals in 182 appearances for the club before switching to Anfield in a £1.5m move, regaled a packed Wrights Lounge with ‘wonderful memories’ of his time at Gresty Road.

Thanks for coming home, Danny!
