Crewe Alexandra Women are pleased to confirm the signing of exciting attacker Leah Collins from Merseyrail Ladies.

Collins spent her early development years representing Preston North End and Wigan Athletic before a brief spell in the Alex's youth setup.

As she transitioned to first-team football, the speedy forward signed for Chorley Women in The FA Women's National League First Division (tier 4), where she had a standout season. Collins was then presented with a move to Liverpool Feds in The Women's National Premier Division (tier 3).

The wide player, who can play in any of the front three roles has recently played as an attacking full back, which again is why Head Coach Matt Fisher was keen to snap up the youngster.

Collins becomes Fisher's second summer signing joining Katie Gibbons as Crewe Alex Women prepare for the 2023/24 campaign.

Speaking on the new signing, Matt Fisher said: "We're really excited that the opportunity came for us to bring Leah in. She is exactly the sort of player and person we look to recruit.

"She is versatile, athletic and can offer us something different. The fact that we are bringing in players from leagues above us is pleasing and shows what we are trying to build here."

He added: "We're confident we will add another player or two to the squad before the start of the season."
