Lachlan Brook says he is ready to kick on after extending his loan at Crewe Alexandra until the end of the season.
The forward, who initially joined from Brentford in August, has agreed to stay after making 20 appearances for the club.
The Aussie admits the first half of the campaign stuttered at times, but he is confident of making a big contribution between now and May.
Brook said: “It’s been up and down, I had injuries and other setbacks, and it is a new league to me so I had to develop into that.
“But over the next six months, I’m ready to kick on and help the team as much as I can.
“I know the boys and the area now, and I’m settled. It feels like a home from home, and when I re-signed a lot of the lads were really happy and came and gave me a hug, which fills you with confidence that you’ve made the right decision.”
Brook, 21, has scored two goals for The Railwaymen this term and will be aiming to add to his tally when AFC Wimbledon visit today (Saturday, 3pm).
He added: “This is the first EFL football I’ve ever played, but if you look at 18th position to sixth, there’s not much in the league.
“If we get five on the trot it will change everything. The boys are ready to kick and on and we just want to keep going.”
