Joel Tabiner says he is ready to play in any position to help the Crewe Alexandra cause.
The 19-year-old was picked to play right wing-back for the midweek clash against Hartlepool, and he impressed in a 2-0 victory.
The homegrown left-footer, who has previously played in attacking midfield roles, says he is happy to fulfill any role asked of him by boss Lee Bell.
Tabiner said: “I haven’t played there before but I’m happy to play anywhere and I just wanted to impress.
“I like playing in the middle of the pitch but I don’t really mind, I’ll play anywhere. I wanted to impress, it was my first game in a while.
“I felt really fit and strong. I think I’m good technically and I trust my ability, so I want to take as many set pieces as I can.”
He added: “That win had been coming everyone is happy that we’ve won. As soon as (Hartlepool) went to 10-men they were going to drop behind the ball, and that made it harder to create chances. I thought we did well to get the two goals before half time.
“The fans were really good and when you hear them getting behind you it just pushes you on a bit more.”
Bell will have the option of recalling full-back Sean Robertson when Crewe travel to Harrogate this weekend (Saturday, 3pm), but Tabiner’s display will keep him right in the frame.
The teenager added: “It is a big game on Saturday at Harrogate, they are on similar points to us and we have to make sure we give it 100%. We want to win as many games as we can between now and the end of the season.”
