Lee Bell was pleased with a point after Crewe Alexandra’s midweek trip to Walsall.
The Manager was keen to take the positives from the 0-0 draw, as his side made it four games unbeaten in League Two.
Bell said: “It was a hard-earned point. I’m really proud of the players and the effort they are putting in - some of them are really on their last legs.
“There is plenty to improve on, but I can’t criticise the players.
“I thought we controlled the game pretty well in the first half, but in the second half - because of their long balls and a bit of tentativeness in our play at the back - it was harder.
“Both teams might have been here all night without scoring a goal, we just didn’t have the end product. All-in-all, it was a good point.
“We are getting some consistency and we have to take that into Saturday. Rochdale is our full focus now; we have to rest the players up and fuel them up and get them ready to go. Rochdale are fighting for the lives and it will be a tough game.”
Bell gave a special mention to on-loan keeper James Beadle, who kept a clean sheet on his EFL debut.
He added: “James was really good and sound. His distribution was fine and he handled the occasion really well.”
