Elliott Nevitt said Accrington’s wild celebrations inspired his stunning injury-time strike, on Saturday.
Josh Woods’s 96th-minute goal made it 3-2 and sparked joyous scenes from the Stanley players, who felt they had won the game at Mornflake Stadium.
But Nevitt had the final say when he whacked a sensational leveller to rescue a point for Crewe Alexandra on 98 minutes.
The striker, who now has eight goals this term, said: “Their celebrations really wound me up. The way they thought they had won it and were jumping by our fans; it proper got to me.
“Luckily, I was the one who could score and repay our fans. I was really buzzing that they didn’t finish with that.
“I think we deserved a goal and the draw. We worked so hard out there and we keep fighting. I always believe we will get a chance and luckily it fell to me and I hit it.
“It’s one of my best goals as a pro. The lads always believe we will get something and we don’t stop – even with 10 men. I believed we’d score and it’s credit to the lads.”
