Crewe Alexandra will bid to get back to winning ways when they Accrington Stanley at Mornflake Stadium on Saturday (3pm).

Lee Bell’s side have lost in their last two outings but will start the game in a healthy fifth position in League Two.

The Opposition

Accrington Stanley sit in 10th place in the table, just one point outside the Play-Off positions.

They have managed just one win in their last six league games, at the expense of Wrexham. 

The Gaffer

John Coleman is the second-longest serving EFL manager, after rejoining the club nine years ago. He was in charge for almost 13 years in his first spell and has led the club to four promotions.

Coleman has taken charge of 512 games for Stanley - boasting a 38% win percentage. He has has also managed at Rochdale.

Fighting Talk

Lee Bell: "It is brilliant for them to be where they are in the table after a relegation. That shows the character in that group so it will be a tough game, but we are hopeful that we put on a performance and get the result.”

John Coleman: "We are expecting a tough game. We have had some great encounters with Crewe in the past and hopefully, this will go our way."

Head-to-Head

The two sides have met 18 times with Accrington coming out on top nine times and the Alex winning eight.

A recent 2-0 win for the Railwaymen against Saturday’s opponents came in 2021 with goals from Omar Beckles and Chris Porter.

Match Officials

Paul Howard will referee for Saturday’s clash; assisted by Alistair Nelson and Mark Jones. Richard Woodward will be the fourth official.
