Crewe Alexandra have completed the loan signing of Newcastle United midfielder Joe White.

The highly-rated 20-year-old has signed a deal which will initially run until January 14.

White, who has represented England at Under-18 level, joined the Magpies at 16 and progressed quickly through the ranks.

He has enjoyed previous loan spells at Hartlepool United and Exeter City where he racked up 39 appearances combined, registering one goal.

The creative left-footer, who was awarded a new three-year deal by Eddie Howe last year, is in contention to feature when Crewe entertain MK Dons on Saturday (3pm).
