Keeper Dave Richards has joined Scottish Premier side St Johnstone on a season-long loan.

The 29-year-old, who has spent eight seasons at Mornflake Stadium, has found himself down the pecking of late and wants first-team action.

Now he has agreed to join the McDiarmid Park side, managed by former Sheffield Wednesday and Cardiff striker Steven MacLean, on loan.

Richards, who signed for Crewe from Bristol City in 2015, has made 94 appearances for The Railwaymen.
