Conor Thomas looked back to his best during Crewe Alexandra’s victory at Doncaster Rovers.
That’s according to Manager Lee Bell, who was full of praise for the midfielder’s dominative display in Yorkshire.
The summer signing was impressive at centre-half when he returned to the starting line-up at Gillingham recently, after being deployed as a sub in the five previous outings.
And he was even more effective in the engine room at Doncaster, as goals from Courtney Baker-Richardson and Connor O’Riordan sealed a 2-0 success.
Bell said: “I thought Conor Thomas looked back to his best, pouncing on second balls, receiving it on his back foot so he can turn and play forward.
“That’s part of the work we have done with him; we have done a lot of video work to show the players how they can improve.”
