Matus Holicek nominated for EFL League Two Apprentice of the Season award

11 April 2023

The Club are delighted to announce Matus Holicek has been nominated for the EFL League Two Apprentice of the Season award.

The 18-year-old, who signed a long-term professional contract with the Football Club back in January, has received recognition for his on the field work alongside his college studies.

Holicek joined Crewe Alexandra at the age of nine and has continued to shine throughout each age group.

The creative Slovakian midfielder made his debut for the first-team in November against Leeds United U21s in the Papa Johns Trophy, and has featured twice from the substitute bench more recently in the league before sustaining an injury.

Supporters will remember Zac Williams being nominated for the same award last year.
