Teenager Tom Booth could make his Crewe Alexandra debut before the end of the season.
Manager Lee Bell says winning games, rather than experimenting with players, will remain at the forefront of his mind - regardless of the stakes.
But he revealed that homegrown keeper Booth is in his thoughts, as The Railwaymen head into their final five matches of 2022-23.
Bell said: “We want to win every game, so we’re not just going chuck players in who we don’t feel are ready.
“But there are things we want to work on leading into next season, so there might be one or two changes in the team or in our formation.
“We see Tom being in our squad next season, and not going out on loan, so there is a possibility of getting him some first-team exposure between now and the end of the season.”
Booth, 18, has impressed in loan spells at Kidsgrove and Nantwich this season, but was recalled to Crewe earlier this month following the injury to loan man James Beadle.
