Position Overview

The successful candidate will be part of the leadership team within the recruitment department. You will be expected to be in regular attendance at the academy training sessions & games programme. The local recruitment co-ordinator will be an active scout around the north west including cross-checking players recommended for an 8 week trial. You will provide operational support across the recruitment department and wider academy as required.

Essential Requirements

  • Clean, valid driving licence
  • DBS Checked
  • FA Safeguarding award
  • Knowledge of grassroots football within the local area
  • Understanding of Academy football and the EPPP
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience of working within a professional football environment at Academy Level
  • Talent ID Level 2

Job Responsibilities

  • To specialise in the recruitment of players within a designated geographical area
  • Ensure that the Club is represented at local fixtures, festivals and tournaments
  • Create and develop links with local clubs, coaches and teachers
  • Work closely with regional co-ordinators and volunteer scouts to ensure coverage requirements are met
  • Work closely with the HoR to develop player reports & gradings
  • Provide scouts with feedback on trialists
  • Manage relationships with parents of players who are on trial. This includes being present on their first night and providing feedback where necessary
  • Implement and adhere to all Club policies and practices relating to the recruitment of players
  • Work closely with the HoR to develop a continuous professional development (CPD) plan for scouts
  • Support the recruitment department on an operational level and wider academy as required
  • Support on the creation and implementation of recruitment software
  • Support the Crewe Select programme from a coaching, operational and recruitment perspective
  • Attend midweek sessions on a weekly basis and games as and when required
  • Represent Crewe Alexandra in a professional manner at all times
