Crewe Alexandra Women legend Katie Nuttall has taken the decision to retire from competitive football.
The former Alex captain, who spent 10 years in the first team made the announcement this week.
She would to share the following message: "All good things come to an end.
"I’ve made the decision that it’s time for me to step back from football. Being part of the Crewe Alexandra Women FC family for the past 10 years has been amazing. I have friends for life in my teammates past and present but it’s time to focus on my family and my career.
"I had the privilege of captaining my girls to promotions, league cups and county cups, we’ve played in stadiums, cow fields and all things in between. To all the coaches and managers and amazing volunteers- thank you for making it all possible.”
Head Coach, Matt Fisher said: "We thank Katie for her service and hope she enjoys the free time with her family and look forward to seeing her supporting the girls in the future."
