Williams Set To Miss Start Of Next Season

3 May 2022

Blow for youngster and the club as Zac will have play catch-up after being ruled out for pre-season.

Zac Williams will visit a London specialist later today to decipher the extent of his ankle injury. The young Welshman, 18, unfortunately suffered the injury towards the end of our final home game of the season against Ipswich.

The defender landed awkwardly on his ankle when challenging for a header at the far post and he had to be replaced by Bassala Sambou with five minutes remaining.

Williams, who made 20 appearances this past season has suffered a grade 3 ligament tear and is expected to miss the entire pre-season. The talented youngster will have to embark on a mini pre-season of his own once the injury has healed and he remains a major doubt for the start of next season that starts earlier on 30th July due to the Qatar World Cup.

Everyone at Crewe Alexandra wishes Zac a speedy recovery.
