Lee Bell believes that his former Crewe Alexandra team-mate Kelvin Mellor will make a telling contribution both on and off the pitch next season.
Mellor and Bell were a part of the Crewe Alexandra side that won promotion via the play-offs in 2012 and the former Blackpool, Plymouth and Morecambe defender will bring a wealth of experience having won three promotions in his career to date.
Bell said of Kelvin’s return: “I never really spoke about my own situation if I am honest. I left Crewe and came back later in my career, but it was never mentioned. Kelvin wanted to come back and play for his hometown club.
“We spoke about what his role will be and how he can have a positive impact both on and off the pitch. We know all about Kelvin and what he can offer as a player and as a character.
“He will train right and raise the standard and I am sue his experience will rub off on the younger ones. We are delighted to have him.
“He is an improvement on what he had and we know what a good player he is and what a good lad we have got on our hands as well.”
