Lee Bell has told the club’s official website that he would like nothing more than for Mikael Mandron to remain with the club. The club’s staff are still hoping that the popular Frenchman will commit his future to the club, but the former Sunderland man is sure to have interest after Crewe dropped into League Two.
Mandron was the club’s joint top scorer with 10 goals along with Chris Long and the club’s assistant manager would love to see those two team up again next season and make Crewe competitive in the league below.
Bell told crewealex.net: “I would like nothing more than for Mika to tell us that he wants to stay. He is a god guy and a good player and I’m sure he would score a lot of goals for us again next year if he were to stay.
“We have given him some time to think about it and I’m sure there will be many factors behind his ultimate position. Everyone would like him to stay and agree another year or two, but we also know the other side of things and the chance to play higher.
“The ball is in his court and he knows that he has to make a decision because we also have to know if we have to go out and replace him. There will be a deadline on that but we hope we can keep the dialogue open and see what happens.”
