Lundstram Will Join Altrincham On July 1st

28 May 2022

Josh Lundstram will rejoin National League side, Altrincham, on a permanent basis on July 1st after the two clubs agreed an undisclosed fee for the midfielder.

The 23-year-old will move back to Moss Lane to rejoin Phil Parkinson’s side after previously helping Altrincham to promotion through the National League North play-offs during a loan spell in the early part of 2020.

Lundstram made 10 appearances towards the end of that successful season before returning to Crewe Alexandra and making his first-team debut in the EFL Trophy away at Bolton Wanderers.

Lundstram, who had progressed through the Academy ranks at the club, went on to make 35 appearances for Crewe Alexandra operating in various positions under previous boss David Artell.

Lundstram was utilised as a right wing-back in spells last season, but always preferred a midfield role. His involvement at first team level would possibly have been greater but for injury during the 2020/21 campaign, when an ankle problem limited him to just 6 games.

Lundstram made 29 appearances last season as Crewe were relegated back to League Two and he also spent a brief time out on loan with Solihull Moors heading into the New Year.

The Stoke-on-Trent based midfielder has been a great professional during his time with us and everyone at the club wishes him all the best for the next chapter in his career.
