Crewe Alexandra manager Alex Morris says he is hopeful that there will be some positive news released on Zac Williams' contract very soon.
The 18-year-old made his professional league debut for the Club back in November 2021 against Bolton Wanderers and has continued to impress ever since.
After captaining his national side Wales in the youth system, Alex and his management staff have been quick to secure the signature of the highly-rated youngster.
Morris said: "We are still very hopeful that his contract will be concluded very soon.
"There is a willingness from both Zac as the player and us as the Club to get that done sooner rather than later. Nothing major is holding the deal up but there is just one or two bits and pieces that you get with contracts in general.
"Obviously, everyone knows that there is a lot more that goes into contracts these days, it isn’t just a case of length and value of the contract anymore."
He continued with: "Zac is a valuable asset who is going to be an outstanding player not just for us but being completely honest he will play at a higher level than where we are currently at in the future.
"So, we are hopeful that there will be good news on that very soon."
