Crewe Alexandra’s Youth Wales International, Zac Williams, has made significant progress from his recent illness and has been allowed to step up with his training. The defender joined in two/thirds of training this week and will revisit his specialist today.
Williams, 17, has made a promising start to his career at senior level and that progression has only been hampered by a stomach complaint.
“Zac did two thirds of the training yesterday and that is a positive step. He is set to see a specialist again for another update, so we will know more tomorrow or later this week, said Crewe boss David Artell.
“We will do everything we can to help him continue to come back but we also have to remember that he is still 17 years old and we have to be cautious with him.
“Hopefully he can get back as soon as feasibly possible to come and help the first team.”
