Major Club partner Whitby Morrison will feature on one of this evening’s episodes of the BBC series, We Are England.
Filming took place at the Whitby Morrison Factory during January and February and has now been edited into a full 30-minute programme.
The show will give followers the opportunity to meet many of the people who produce Whitby Morrison Ice Cream Vans.
The BBC website for We Are England describes the episode as follows:
We meet the people behind a family-run ice cream van factory, seeing how they hand-build the vans and how they're innovating to deal with tough economic conditions in the industry.
In the 1960s there were tens of thousands of ice cream vans in England. Today there are just 5,000. Most of them are hand built at a factory in Crewe. The family-run business is 60 years old, but tough economic conditions mean that the company are now having to innovate to keep the business going. As the father hands over the reins to his sons, we’ll also meet the workers behind the vehicle that puts a smile on everyone’s face.
