Central defender Connor O'Riordan started for Republic of Ireland's Under-20 side last night in a 1-0 defeat to Ireland Amateurs.

The Alex youngster claimed his first international cap for Jim Crawford's Irish side in Dublin.

Connor will now be hoping he's done enough to train with the Under-21s side ahead of their qualifiers later this month.
