Gaffer: 'We Have Got To Find A Way To Win'

15 March 2022

David Artell insists there is still hope in the fight for survival in Sky Bet League One as his side look continue to ‘find a way to win’.

The Alex are current eight points away from safety with nine games left to play. The belief remains high that the Railwaymen can avoid the drop this season.

The Gaffer told the official club website: “It's definitely not impossible. Anyone who went to the game on Saturday saw the fans clap the players off because I think they saw a good performance, even though it resulted in no points.

“I appreciate we might take a poor performance for three points at the minute, but while the performances are there and the lads are improving, we've got to retain that belief.

“There's no reason not to retain that belief. I left the Sunderland on Saturday saying we are on the right track. We've got to make sure we perform again in a different way and maintain that level.”

Crewe Alexandra manager David Artell adopted a new formation that saw his side frustrate the opposition whilst having chances of their own.

The boss went on to say: “I think we've got to find a way and if that's the way, then I'm all for it. If it's another way, then I'm all for that as well. Beggars can't be choosers in that sense.

“The bottom line Is we have got to find a way to win. My view is, that we should have won on Saturday. We had three or four great chances and we didn't take them.
