David Artell says that the Crewe Alexandra crowd can make the difference when we host Fleetwood Town this weekend. The Alex boss says that the support we receive from the stands could provide the extra percentage needed to end a run of seven consecutive home defeats and keep our slim hopes of surviving in League One alive.

Artell told the club’s official website: “Our crowd can make the difference. If you would have said would I prefer to be at home then yes, because we have our fans there and we need them. They can provide the edge in games.

“We have had a number of home games lately where there has been a large following and you can see the difference it makes to those teams. The fans have been terrific for us in the large part and they can play their part again on Saturday.

“We are playing a team that is not used to winning like ourselves, so we have to take advantage of that and make sure we get the three points.

He added: “I hope the fans understand what a difference they make and they bring their singing voices with them on Saturday.”
