Time is ticking away as Alex move into the final month of the season.
David Artell is hoping that the work that has been achieved over the last two weeks out on the training ground will pay off in the final month of the season. The Crewe Alexandra boss and his staff have taken advantage of the International break in fixtures to work with the players as we prepare for the decisive run-in.
Crewe start the final seven games of the season with a home game against Fleetwood Town this weekend with Artell describing the meeting as ‘a must win’ if we are to have any chance of survival.
Artell told the club’s official website: “I think we have been able to get more done in the last two weeks than we have over the last two months. Hopefully the work we have done will bare fruit in the forthcoming games.
“We have done some video work today on what is expected of the players. They know that it is a big game. For some of them it will be the biggest game of their careers to date. We know what is at stake and we have to win the game.
“We have to grasp the opportunities that are there for us. We have to start taking them because we are running out of games now.
“He have to forget that we are playing under pressure and all that. Everyone has written us off anyway, so the pressure is off us to a certain extent. We have to go and play like we can and if we can then we have a chance and then we will see where we are with six games left.”
