David Artell has told the club’s official website that he is looking forward to his team being tested by Stockport County in tonight’s Cheshire Senior Cup tie. Lee Bell’s side will be aiming to reach the final of the competition after beating Hyde United in the quarter-final but they face a different proposition in the Hatters.
Stockport are storming back into the EFL and are a club on an upward curve again under Dave Challinor. They will be full of confidence going into tonight’s clash at Edgeley Park.
Artell told the club’s official website: “It will be a real test for our lads. We have gone young throughout the competition and that has paid off, not only in terms of results but also their development.
“We have played under -16s in the competition previously and that has been a good experience for them but we also have to be mindful of the opposition we are playing this evening too. It is a different proposition so we will put one or two of the first team players in to help the younger ones.
“We don’t know if Stockport will go strong or not but we will help some of our younger ones through and hopefully they will have a chance to impress.”
