New boss cannot wait to be back out on the grass to stamp his own ideas on his new-look Crewe team.
Alex Morris says he cannot wait for pre-season to officially restart next week so that he and his staff can get to work on shaping his new team for the season.
Morris is looking forward to integrating four new players into his new-look team and having the opportunity to stamp his own authority on things after being in caretaker charge for the last four games of the season.
Morris has already started on improving the environment and raising standard at training and he feels that the arrival of four more senior players will only assist the dressing room further.
The players return to full training on 22nd June but all of the squad have been topping up their fitness levels throughout the summer with their individual programmes.
Morris told crewealex.net: “The players will report back next Wednesday for the start of pre-season and when that happens and then the fixtures come out you know are getting closer and the excitement and anticipation starts to build.
“It will important to integrate the new players into the squad and work with them so they know how we work.
“We can work on that off the pitch but that bonding and team spirit really depends on what you do out on the grass. It will give us a chance to build those relationships and provide them with that understanding.
Morris added: “We will work on the structure and organisation of the team to hopefully brings us success next season and the pre-season preparation is there to make sure we hit the ground running on 30th July.”
