"League Is Wide Open And There Will Be A Number Of Clubs Eyeing Promotion Push"

Lunt says League Two will be as competitive as ever.

Crewe Alexandra start their pre-season campaign at local neighbours Nantwich Town this weekend and Kenny Lunt, the club’s Player Development Coach, says that everything is being geared towards the opening day of the season and that away trip to Rochdale.

Lunt says that it is always exciting to see the fixtures and although he admits that the size of some clubs back in League One dwarf those in League Two, there are still some exciting times to look forward to after last season’s disappointment.

Lunt told the club’s official website: “There are always some good fixtures to look forward to but I never really put one above any other really. There are some good clubs in this league, granted probably not the size of those we were used to in League One, but there are some up-and-coming clubs.

“You have Stockport County who have come up and they will be probably looking at it and will be thinking about going again, but there will be a number of clubs thinking on the same lines and we are one of them.

Kenny added: “I think it’s going to be really competitive and it is open for a lot of clubs and the thinking has to be that way. For me, we all play twice and the only one we are really focussed on is Rochale because that’s the first one.”
