Progress Being Made Behind The Scenes On More Potential Targets

24 June 2022

Alex manager says he knows what we need to add to the four we have already signed.

Crewe Alexandra manager Alex Morris says that work in progress is continuing as he aims to add to the four new faces he has already signed in readiness for the new season.

The Alex boss has stated that the recruitment and coaching staff know exactly the profile of players they are looking to incorporate into the squad and he says that with all transfers, small factors and details have to align to make sure it moves forward.

Crewe have already signed former player Kelvin Mellor, midfielders Charlie Colkett and Conor Thomas and forward Courtney Baker-Richardson this summer with more to follow in due course.

“We are fully aware of where we need to strengthen and where we need to prioritise in regards to players because we know that the season will soon be upon us again', said the Crewe boss.

“There is movement in that sense and we are hopeful that we can reveal a name or two over the next couple of weeks. There are always a certain number of factors, as always, that have to fully align to make sure that the process is accelerated but there is a lot of work in progress going on in that sense.

"We are working hard to make sure they are done sooner rather than later.”
