Morris says new signing Colkett will help run our midfield and get us playing football.
Alex Morris believes that securing the services of Charlie Colkett will allow our new-look midfield to get more control of the ball and Colkett’s experience will allow him to dictate the tempo of matches.
Morris is delighted to have added the former Chelsea youngster to his three other major signings this summer and Colkett has already revealed that he is ready to embrace the challenge of being a key player for us following the departures of midfielders, Tom Lowery and Luke Murphy, at the end of the season.
Morris told crewealex.net: “Charlie has played abroad and hasn’t had the normal pathway that youngsters in this country tend to have but I think those experiences have shaped what he has become as a player and a person.
“Our midfield is going to have to have control and be able to handle the ball in midfield and Charlie will be a key part of that. That is the way we want to play football here at Crewe and he can certainly do that.
“He has the ability to dictate possession and the tempo of the game. He also possesses a good range of passing and we know he will be an asset in there for us, alongside Conor Thomas, who is different and compliments what we have.
Alex added: “Charlie was desperate to come here and has a clear vision of what we wants to achieve and what direction he wants to take his career and we are delighted he has come here. I had many chats with him and he is a great lad as well.”
