Boss: "We Will Implement New Ideas To Get The Best Out Of Pre-Season"

24 June 2022

Alex Morris and his backroom staff have a clear and concise strategy to make sure that the Crewe Alexandra players are well equipped to handle the demands of a tough EFL season in League Two.

The Alex boss says it is important not to offload the players with too much information, instead he and his staff will gradually introduce and implement their new ideas over the coming six weeks to make us as competitive as possible in the division.

Morris explained to the club’s official website: “During the pre-season we are after a bit of everything, we have to feed in the physical side of things first and then gradually from next week onwards, feed in the structure and organisation we expect both defensively and in attack from a tactical point of view.

“It is a case of feeding everything in at different points so they don’t get too much all at once and it leaves their system and they forget about it.

Alex added: “So that’s the art and skill of the management team to ensure that the work and the information is provided to them, so they are ready to go on July 30th when that first game against Rochdale comes around.”
