Kenny Lunt has told the club’s official website that everyone is looking forward to this weekend’s opening friendly at local neighbours Nantwich Town.
Crewe start the pre-season campaign against The Dabbers and have seven other warm up fixtures in readiness for the season opener at Rochdale on July 30th.
The club’s Player Development Coach says that everyone is focussed on last season’s disappointing campaign and is looking forward to more consistent results and performances in League Two.
Lunt told the club’s official website: “You come towards the end of a tough season, a really hard season and it wasn’t enjoyable because of the results and you want to that break to get away from it.
“But after a couple of days you want that buzz of a Saturday again and working towards getting a result again. After a week or two you are just itching to get back to work and thinking about that first day of pre-season and seeing how everything is going to work and working with the new players.
“It is about everything you are involved in football for. The buzz that comes with that and the aim is to make it a much enjoyable season for everyone with good performances and results.”
