Kenny Lunt praises the detail and planning that has gone into the pre-season to make it varied for the players.
Kenny Lunt believes that the mixture of Alex Morris’ meticulous detail and preparation combined with Lee Bell’s intensity and knowledge will drive this pre-season to new heights. The players are certainly being put through their paces fitness wise and everything is geared to make sure we hit the ground running on July 30th.
The club’s Player Development Coach says that the mixture has been good and he feels that although it has been a tough re-introduction to pre-season, the players have responded positively.
Lunt told the club’s official website: “Obviously it was going to be tough for the first couple of weeks and it has been but the players are loving it as well. I’m sure there are moments when they are not enjoying it as much, but it is all being done for their benefit, to make sure they get through the season and don’t suffer too many niggling injuries.
“All the players are getting to understand their roles and responsibilities in the team and the coaches have everything planned. We know that Alex and Lee are two excellent coaches and they get their points across in a clear and concise manner.
“Lee brings that intensity too and the players respond to that as well. It has gone as well as we could have expected so far and there is always a new buzz when it’s a new season and a new manager is in place. That just how it is in football.”
He added: “Hopefully that buzz can carry through well into the new season and we make a positive start, starting at Rochdale on the opening day.”
