Alex Morris explains that new signings Thomas and Colkett will be back in training shortly.

Crewe Alexandra’s new signings, Charlie Colkett and Conor Thomas have been struggling with niggling muscle injuries sustained in pre-season but Alex Morris expects both to return to full-time training shortly. 

Both midfielders missed Saturday’s pre-season opener at Nantwich with muscle strains but they are making significant progress in their rehabilitation and both are on course to be available for the later pre-season friendly games.

Alex Morris, the Crewe Alexandra manager said: “Conor and Charlie are both fine. We have had a tough pre-season so far and they have picked up a couple of niggles along the way which aren’t worries at all.

“I fully expect them to be back in training in the near future and there is nothing too serious where those two are involved. They are only really short term injuries and they will back with us soon.”
