Luke Offord has been confirmed as the new club captain and he has the ability to be the stand-out player in the division according to Kenny Lunt.
Newly appointed club captain Luke Offord has the potential to be the stand-out defender in League Two according to the club’s Player Development coach, Kenny Lunt.
Offord has replaced Luke Murphy as captain of the club and Lunt says that the former Academy graduate continues to lead by example both on and off the pitch.
Kenny told crewealex.net: “Luke sets the example both on and off the pitch and that is why Alex (Morris) decided that he was perfect for the role of captain.
“He has been captain before and his consistent performances and the way he conducts himself in training is an example to everyone. He has a first class attitude to everything he does.
“He is not a shouter type of captain. He speaks enough and he knows the game well enough to help others out.
“We want him to kick on again and show everyone that he can be the best defender in League Two. He was right up there when he came into the team in this league and helped us win promotion. His performances then were very consistent.
“He has shown that he can play at the level above and like all of our young players, we hope he can move on at some stage and play even higher than that, but at the moment he has to become the best defender in this league and go from there.”
