Kenny Lunt says the pursuit of adding more competition for places continues.
Despite the new season only now 17 days away, Kenny Lunt, says that the Alex staff are continuing to work hard to bring in even more competition for places. Crewe have signed five new players this summer and Lunt recently revealed that the club are close to securing the services of a loan goalkeeper from a club higher up the football pyramid.
The club’s Player Development Coach says that with the summer transfer window going all the way to the end of August, recruitment remains a top priority once the training sessions are concluded.
Lunt told the club’s official website: “We are very much still looking and if the budget allows in terms of their wages or loan fees or whatever it might be and they are good players who can improve us then we are in the market.
“We want to create as much competition for places as we possibly can and again if we can get another couple of players in then that could free up the possibility of some of our younger lads going out on loan to gain that invaluable experience of playing competitive football somewhere.”
