Crewe Alexandra’s assistant manager, Kenny Lunt, says the club’s transfer dealings are not necessary over as we approach this evening’s deadline.

The club have already worked on bringing in four new faces to bolster the squad and Lunt says that work continues on another one or two more options.

Lunt told the club’s official website: “There is nothing concrete at the moment and you can never be totally sure of these type of things getting over the line, but we would like one or two more if it is possible. We will work hard on that today and see where we get to.

“We would like one or two more coming in to help us before the window closes because we want to have competition for places and give ourselves the best chance of staying in this league.”
