Kenny Lunt believes that the opportunity for players to attain game time and to develop as footballers remains a key component for Crewe attracting players in the market.
The club’s assistant manager appreciates that we cannot get anywhere near some of the budgets available at other clubs in League One, so the vastly experienced player and coach knows that Crewe have to be creative.
Crewe are in the mix to sign other players before the closure of the transfer window on Monday night and Lunt says that there are players out there, who can see the benefit of coming to Crewe and improving with the coaching on offer here.
He told the club’s official website: “There are a lot of factors that come into it when a player wants to sign for you. Obviously, finances can dictate but not always. They know they will have a chance to play and develop with us.
“I am not not just talking about young players or Under-23 players either. I am sure if you speak to a Omar Beckles, Mika Mandron or Michel Nottingham you would get the same answer from them. They will tell you how much they enjoyed it or enjoy it and how we have helped them improve as footballers.
“There are other things we can offer and we want those players who want to come here for those reasons. It shows they want to improve and get better and this is what this club is all about.”
