Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell says it continues to be a busy time behind the scenes as he aims to get some transfers over the line during the January transfer window.
Artell admits that the January window is a tougher one to work in as you are confined to 31 days and clubs are more reluctant to allow their players to leave mid-season. Players are also in contract and will look for longer, permanent deals than a loan if they are entering the last few months of their deals.
Artell told the club’s official website: “It has been a busy time. Last week, I think I was in the house on Thursday and that was it. I was either out watching games and players or having meetings. I went to watch the youth team at Leicester on Friday and have constantly been on the phone.
“It is always a busy month and it will be the same, right up until deadline. I am not complaining. It is a major part of the job and we will be working around the clock to get some over the line.”
