Artell On Cambridge Test

Alex come up against FA Cup giant killers aiming to win that second away trip

Crewe take on FA Cup giant killers Cambridge United this weekend and David Artell admits that Mark Bonner’s side are difficult to beat.

The U’s caused the upset of FA Cup Round Three when winning 1-0 at Newcastle United and their reward is a fourth round home tie against Championship club Luton Town.

They defeat Doncaster Rovers 3-1 in mid-week at their Abbey Stadium and although Bonner admitted afterwards that it wasn’t a vintage performance from his Cambridge side, the win has moved them to up 13th in the League One table.

Ahead of our trip to Cambridge, Artell told the club’s official website: “Cambridge are hard to beat and Mark has done a great job. They are well organised, tough to break down and have good players.

“They are effective at what they do and the players all know the jobs they have to do. You don’t win away at a Premier League club if you don’t know your jobs and they deserved all the plaudits they received for that performance. They deserved to win the game.

He added: “We know it will be tough but we know that if we play to our potential then we know that any team in his division is beatable. We have to exploit their weaknesses and if we can do that then we have a great chance of winning the game.”
